Horse Blanket, about 1910
In the advertising world, everything is an opportunity – even a team of horses pulling a delivery wagon. William Hogan operated a cigar factory in Amsterdam, New York, 1905-1915. His inexpensive Just Right 10-cent cigars were much like others in the market, so he had to work hard to create customer loyalty and produce demand. To distinguish his Just Right brand from the competition, Hogan created print ads, fancy cigar boxes, and even specialized blankets draped on delivery wagon horses.
